We woke up early eager to get ashore to Great Stirrup Cay which was the first island we were due to visit. To work off the cruise food, we hit the gym for a quick workout then strolled around the outdoor “jogging track” on level 5.
We had a quick breakfast at the Garden Cafe. Then we raced back to our room to get ready and catch the tender boat to shore. Danielle had been dying to ride a jet ski in the Caribbean. We had booked a jet ski tour the night before so we were pretty excited. Once we had all our bags, we were on our way to catch the boat. Suddenly, the captain made an announcement that because of rough seas we wouldn’t be able to make it to shore today, so we were sailing to our next destination instead. Today would be a sea day.
Making The Most of A Day At Sea
Since today was going to be a sea day now, we decided it would be a good time to use the voucher we won for a massage. I went for a Bamboo massage. The therapist uses these warm bamboo sticks like rolling pins to give you a deep tissue massage. It was painful but I needed it! The massage room has a massive window looking out over the ocean. It’s really beautiful – although you don’t get to see it much because your head is down the whole time.

I came out feeling super relaxed. We grabbed some lunch (including more free pizza) then headed downstairs for a nap. I must’ve been tired because o slept until 5pm (but what are vacations for if not relaxing).
More Food
Tonight we dined at The Crossings at the rear of the ship. They seated us by a window looking out the back so we could see the wake. You could see just how much we were rocking by watching the ocean ride and fall from the window.

It was another delicious meal. I had the duck for an appetizer, lamb curry for main and we went all out with three desserts. Everything was delicious except for the pavlova – it was just a meringue.
Entertainment at Sea
After dinner we threw our names in the hat to be a part of a couples game show. We didn’t get drawn out but it was really interesting to watch.
After the game show we went back to the Stardust Theatre to enjoy a dance show. It was called, Rock You Tonight featuring dance performances to a medley of famous rock songs. Finally, we wound down in the Spinnaker lounge laughing ourselves to tears watching karaoke.
For a day at sea, where we couldn’t get to shore, we still had a great time relaxing and having fun.
A perfect day at sea, I must say! Love doing a spa visit on a cruise!!
I love cruising. We have done multiple Disney Cruises and a couple of Carnival cruises. We planned on checking out Norwegian, but I am not sure how the cruise industry will do in all of this mess. What do you think the future of the cruise industry will look like?
One of my favorite things about cruises is that you can order as much of anything at dinner. On our last cruise, my son ate 2 shrimp cocktails every night. By Day 3, the staff knew and had them at the table mere minutes after we sat. It was awesome!
Cruises are so much fun! We’ve been on a few, but never a Norwegian. It’ looks great! And that view from the spa bed is amazing!!!
That view from the spa is just crazy! Almost worth doing the cruise just for that view! Adding another reason to take a cruise on my list.
I do love a good massage, and the bamboo massage sounds delicious. I’m so sorry your Pavlova was NOT! That’s one of my favorite desserts. . .but I’m a huge fan of a well-made meringue. Glad your day was not a wash-out even though the weather let you down.
