After covering thousands of miles in the last couple days, we decided to make today a rest day in Alamogordo.

We enjoyed just sitting around watching TV, and looking at the mountains out of the window.
Alamogordo is cold this time of year, but it still has Beautiful blue sky’s, and wonderful golden afternoons.

We’re enjoying to spending today resting and making the most of our time with family.
The Town of Alamogordo
In the afternoon we went for a quick drive to the store and saw more of Alamogordo in the daylight. The town sits right against a mountain range called the San Andres part of the Sacramento Mountains, and on the Eastern edge of the Tularosa Basin. You have this wonderful combination of arid flatness against these rising mountains. Amazingly beautiful for someone from Florida where everything is very flat.

In the evening we ventured out to get some ice cream from Caliche’s (kind of like soft serve) which we enjoyed while playing games with the family.
